Our Mission
The National Black MBA Association leads in the creation of educational opportunities and economic growth for African Americans. Providing innovative programs to stimulate their intellectual and economic growth. Building partnerships with key stakeholders who help facilitate this growth. Increasing awareness and facilitating access to graduate management education programs and career opportunities in management fields.
Our Local Vision:
Increase the number of successful African American professionals in the business community. The CCNBMBAA is a professional Organization that serves as a resource for communicating information and ideas among Black Executives, Entrepreneurs, Educators, and Students in the Chicago area who are interested in improving the effectiveness of Black businesses and Black business professionals. The goals and objectives of the CCNBMBAA are:
- Establish and maintain an effective information and communications network which will serve the membership and the business community.
- Provide continuing business education as a means of improving and maintaining the skills and effectiveness of the members and support the efforts of those planning to pursue advanced business degrees.
- Provide scholarships for those intending to pursue business related degrees.
- Encourage scholarly research in those areas of business which affect the Black community.
- Provide a service to the community, whenever requested, managerial and technical assistance to Black Entrepreneurs and businesses.

President’s Message
Welcome to the National Black MBA Association, Chicago Chapter where our legacy is strong and our passion for the community we serve runs deep. We are business strategists, educators, and entrepreneurs who impact the world around us by cultivating strong relationships, encouraging innovation, and exciting the entrepreneurial spirit.
Our Brand extends beyond Chicago, Illinois and is positioned within a global market place. Thus we seek to provide our members, corporate partners, and collegiate affiliates with opportunities that are not easily accessible anywhere else. We achieve this through our Five Channels of Engagement, which include Education, Career, Leadership, Entrepreneurship, and Lifestyle initiatives. Our Board is comprised of business leaders who work around the clock to ensure that our programming covers these initiatives and our key constituents are positioned to take full advantage of the benefits provided.
Ephesians 3:20 states, “Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.” With this said, I am a firm believer that, together, we can ignite and effect change in this ever involving business world. Our History
Established in 1970, by students at the graduate business school at University of Chicago, the National Black MBA Association is dedicated to develop partnerships that result in the creation of intellectual and economic wealth in the black community. In partnership with over 400 of the country’s top business organizations, the association has inroads into a wide range of industries as well as the public and private sector. Yet all of NBMBAA’s partners have one thing in common: they are all committed to the organization’s goals and values.
The organization gains its strength from a strong belief in community and a commitment to its development through economic and educational development initiatives that support the global African American community.
